In this workshop, you will use an off-book technique to practise sewing one of the multitudes of Islamic end band patterns. You will develop a basis for sewing many of the other patterns, which will be discussed along with the application onto a book.

Participants will be required to prepare some materials prior to the workshop. You will need access to materials such as coloured thread, stiff board, and thick leather.

Technical requirements for participation on Microsoft Teams:

·        Access to internet

·        Screen large enough to follow instructor’s video feed (cell phone is not recommended)

·        Microphone or Headset / Webcam

·        Supported browsers – Microsoft Teams currently supports Microsoft Edge, RS2 or later, and Chrome (version 72 or later). Firefox and Safari are not recommended. If your available browser is not compatible, please go the download page for Microsoft Teams and there is a desktop and tablet client (app) for Mac, Android, and Windows. 

Stuart Hill has studied bookbinding with CBBAG under the guidance of Betsy Palmer Eldridge, Don Taylor, Dan Mezza, Karin Scheper, and Rose Newlove.
