The Cross Structure Binding (CSB) is a book structure in which the cover is attached to the text block as it is sewn.

The Booklet CSB creates stiff covers for times when the contents are minimal…very suitable for small collections of pages.

The cover is a single piece of paper that is folded and cut as the book is assembled.

^^This workshop is designed for participants with some bookmaking experience - in particular with folding and sewing a text block.

Stuart Hill has studied bookbinding with CBBAG under the guidance of Betsy Palmer Eldridge, Don Taylor, Dan Mezza, Karin Scheper, and Rose Newlove. With a background in engineering and architecture, his keen interest is in the discovery of book structures. Please visit Stuart’s website: www.georgehillco.com.
